Common questions

Is the watercolor real or AI-generated?: AI-rendered. We start with your photo and generate an original watercolor illustration of it, not a filter, not a template. Every render is unique to your photo. The result reads like real watercolor because the model is trained on watercolor specifically.
Can I see the watercolor before I order?: Yes. We render the watercolor first and show you a preview. If you don't like it, regenerate or pick a different style. No charge until you tap send.
What other styles are there?: Watercolor, cartoon, painterly, vintage, modern, whimsical, comic, and doodle: eight styles in all. Most people pick watercolor for sentimental cards (birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy) and cartoon or comic for fun ones.
How much does it cost?: $19.99/year subscription, then $1.78 per card sent, everything included (custom watercolor render, envelope, stamp, USPS mailing). A premium retail watercolor-style card runs roughly $6–10 all-in (card $5–9 + stamp), so Pigeon Post is about 70% cheaper per card. Your first card is free.
Will it actually look like a hand-illustrated card?: Closer than you'd think. The model produces brush-stroke textures, paper grain, and the color bleed that real watercolor has. We print on a textured cardstock that adds to the illusion. People consistently mistake the print for an original watercolor.
Can I send a watercolor card without subscribing?: Your first card is free, no subscription required. After that, the $19.99/year membership unlocks unlimited sends at $1.78 each.
