Common questions
- Is this actually personalized, or just a template?
- Actually personalized. We start with the photo you upload and generate an original illustration in your chosen style — watercolor, painterly, modern, and more. No template, no name-swap.
- What do you write in a new baby card?
- Skip 'congratulations on your bundle of joy.' What new parents actually need: a specific real-talk moment ('the first six weeks are a blur, that's normal'), a specific offer ('I'm dropping off dinner Thursday'), or a memory you have of the new parent that makes this chapter feel like a continuation of who they've already been. - Can I include cash or a gift card inside?
- Yes. The envelope is standard greeting-card size and easily holds a check, cash, or a flat gift card. Many senders include a registry receipt or a note about a gift coming separately.
- Can I schedule it to arrive the week of the birth, or wait until they're home from the hospital?
- Both. At checkout, pick the arrival date. Most senders wait until the family is home from the hospital (usually a week or so after the birth) — cards landing during the hospital stay often get lost in the chaos. For baby showers, send to arrive a few days BEFORE the shower so the host can include it on the table.
- Can I mail it to the hospital?
- Yes, but most hospitals discourage non-essential mail to maternity wards. The family's home or the baby shower host's address is almost always a better choice. Hospital stays are short and unpredictable.
- What's the QR code on the card?
- Record a 15-second voice or video message. We print a QR code on the inside of the card. For new parents, this is the part they re-watch on the hard days — the third week of no sleep, the first time they leave the baby with a sitter. A voice from this moment, saved.
- How much does a card cost?
- $19.99/year subscription, then $1.78 per card sent — everything included (custom illustration, envelope, stamp, USPS mailing). A retail new baby card runs roughly $5-9 all-in. Your first card is free.
- Can I send the card without subscribing?
- Yes — your first card is free, no subscription required. After that, the $19.99/year membership unlocks unlimited sends at $1.78 each.
